We celebrated Matariki at Girls’ High for the first time. All our students were in their house groups mixing up all the year levels so juniors worked with seniors.
Each faculty came up with activities related to the seven Matariki Stars and we saw students involved in a wide range of fun, creative activities.
At lunchtime we all enjoyed a beautiful hāngi that was prepared by our Ngā Manu Tangiata students and staff. To finish off our day, we came together to start to learn our school haka.
What a great day! Thank you to everyone for contributing with kai donations and your participation today. What a great way to both celebrate Matariki and think ahead to the rest of our school year.
